Ind vs Pak: Home Ministry orders nationwide air raid sirens and evacuation plan rehearsals in case of war

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has directed several states to conduct civil defence mock drills on May 7, 2025, as part of a nationwide effort to test preparedness for potential hostile attacks. The directive aims to enhance public awareness and readiness in case of emergencies such as aerial strikes or other security threats. The drills will focus on critical measures to ensure civilian safety, including the activation of air raid warning sirens and training civilians, especially students, in basic civil defence techniques.

In addition to training civilians, the mock drills will simulate blackout scenarios, where crash blackout measures will be implemented to reduce visibility during potential air raids.
